BioMontdorensis (Transeius montdorensis) is a predatory mite used for the control of thrips, whiteflies and small pests such as spider mites, broad mites and russet mites.
The adult females of BioMontdorensis lay their eggs on trichomes (leaf hairs). The eggs hatch after one to two days. All life stages are predatory and at a temperature of about 25°C, the cycle from egg to adult takes only 7 days which enables a rapid build-up of the population.

Application
- Prior to release, the container should be rotated gently while in a horizontal position to allow proper mixing of the predatory mites in the bran carrier.
- Application of BioMontdorensis should be carried out either early in the morning or late in the afternoon, under relatively mild temperatures.
- During application, the containers should be taken from the shipment package one at a time and the predators released immediately.
- In crops where T. montdorensis can feed on pollen, such as sweet peppers, BioMontdorensis can be introduced preventively before the appearance of the target pests, upon presence of the first flowers.
- The release rate depends upon the nature of the crop, the ecosystem (e.g. open field or greenhouse) and the degree of infestation.
- Where pollen is not available for the predators, BioMontdorensis should be introduced upon the first appearance of the target pests.
Before combining BioMondorensis with any chemical pesticide in the crop, please consult your BioBee technical field representative.
