The Sterile Insect Technique (S.I.T) is an integrated pest management system whereby pests are mass-reared, sterilized, followed by an area-wide release of the sterile insects. The sterile insects proceed to mate, resulting in the decline of the pest population. S.I.T is an environmentally-friendly control method for the Medfly and other severe pests.
The S.I.T method is an additional component of BioBee’s vision for advancing and implementing means as well as measures that are non-chemical, in the control of key pests in modern agriculture.
